Description

Reproduction of Émile-Pierre Metzmacher's genre painting of a woman in a pink gown raising a glass beside a cabinet of painted china in an ornate parlour.

A young woman in a pink and grey striped gown stands on a black and white tiled floor, a small flower tucked into her upswept hair, lifting a delicate glass close to her lips as she looks down thoughtfully. Behind her, a tall wooden cabinet displays rows of blue and white porcelain plates and jugs, with patterned wallpaper, a mirror and a table with an embroidered cloth completing the room. Warm browns and golds contrast with the cooler pink of her dress. The mood is settled and refined, a private pause in a well-kept home. The original is a painting; this is a reproduction of it.

Émile-Pierre Metzmacher painted a scene of everyday life whose interest lies in the fine detail of fabric, china and furnishings rather than in drama.

FAQ

Is this an original artwork?
No. This is a modern fine art reproduction printed on 200 gsm matte fine art paper, not an original or hand-painted work.

What size should I choose?
30x40 cm suits a shelf, a desk or a gallery wall of several small pieces. 50x70 cm is the usual choice for a single print above a bed, a sofa or a console table. 60x90 cm works as a standalone focal point on a large empty wall.

Does the print come framed?
Only if you choose a frame or canvas in the options, where they ship to your country; both arrive ready to hang. An unframed print ships without a frame, and every size matches a standard frame format, so it fits off-the-shelf frames.

How is my order printed?
Each print is made to order at the partner facility closest to you, which keeps delivery times short and shipping distances low. The product page shows where your print is made: locally in your country, or in the closest country with a partner facility.

Can I return it?
Yes. You can return a print within 14 days of delivery. A damaged or defective print is replaced free of charge if you tell us within 30 days of receiving it. Returns go to our address in Poland, and the return shipping is at your cost; a damaged or defective print does not need to be sent back.
