Description

Reproduction of Claude Monet's early spring riverbank at Vétheuil, with leafless trees and a church spire reflected in calm, pale water. Quiet and cool.

A cluster of leafless trees, some rust coloured and some grey, stands along the near bank of a calm river. Beyond them, small pale houses and the tall spire of a church rise against low green hills, and the river fills the lower half of the scene, mirroring the trees and buildings in soft, elongated reflections. The palette is cool and quiet, with muted blues, greens and lavenders under a soft overcast sky, and a patch of yellow grass on the near shore adds a touch of early spring warmth. The mood is still, gentle and contemplative, the hush of a village waking after winter. The original is a painting; this is a reproduction of it.

Claude Monet was a French painter and one of the founders of Impressionism. He worked in series, returning to the same subject under changing light and season, and painted largely outdoors.

FAQ

Is this an original artwork?
No. This is a modern fine art reproduction printed on 200 gsm matte fine art paper, not an original or hand-painted work.

What size should I choose?
30x40 cm suits a shelf, a desk or a gallery wall of several small pieces. 50x70 cm is the usual choice for a single print above a bed, a sofa or a console table. 60x90 cm works as a standalone focal point on a large empty wall.

Does the print come framed?
Only if you choose a frame or canvas in the options, where they ship to your country; both arrive ready to hang. An unframed print ships without a frame, and every size matches a standard frame format, so it fits off-the-shelf frames.

How is my order printed?
Each print is made to order at the partner facility closest to you, which keeps delivery times short and shipping distances low. The product page shows where your print is made: locally in your country, or in the closest country with a partner facility.

Can I return it?
Yes. You can return a print within 14 days of delivery. A damaged or defective print is replaced free of charge if you tell us within 30 days of receiving it. Returns go to our address in Poland, and the return shipping is at your cost; a damaged or defective print does not need to be sent back.
