Description

Reproduction of Claude Monet's windswept coastal hillside with a lone tree bent sideways over grassy slopes, wildflowers and a calm pale sea beyond.

A slender tree stands off centre on the hillside, its trunk and branches painted at a diagonal lean as if pushed by a strong gust. The grassy slope is built from short strokes of green, yellow and touches of lavender that suggest wildflowers. Beyond the crest a pale band of sea meets a hazy sky, and a shallow blue stream cuts across the lower left corner. Dark green and gold leaves stand out against soft blues and creams, and the green of the slope fills most of the picture. The mood is fresh and breezy, with a sense of open coastal air and a moment of wind caught in paint. The original is a painting; this is a reproduction of it.

Claude Monet (1840 to 1926) was the French painter who became one of the founders of Impressionism. He painted largely outdoors, and the leaning tree and dabbed foliage show how he sought to catch the passing effects of wind and light.

FAQ

Is this an original artwork?
No. This is a modern fine art reproduction printed on 200 gsm matte fine art paper, not an original or hand-painted work.

What size should I choose?
30x40 cm suits a shelf, a desk or a gallery wall of several small pieces. 50x70 cm is the usual choice for a single print above a bed, a sofa or a console table. 60x90 cm works as a standalone focal point on a large empty wall.

Does the print come framed?
Only if you choose a frame or canvas in the options, where they ship to your country; both arrive ready to hang. An unframed print ships without a frame, and every size matches a standard frame format, so it fits off-the-shelf frames.

How is my order printed?
Each print is made to order at the partner facility closest to you, which keeps delivery times short and shipping distances low. The product page shows where your print is made: locally in your country, or in the closest country with a partner facility.

Can I return it?
Yes. You can return a print within 14 days of delivery. A damaged or defective print is replaced free of charge if you tell us within 30 days of receiving it. Returns go to our address in Poland, and the return shipping is at your cost; a damaged or defective print does not need to be sent back.
