Description

Reproduction of Claude Monet's study of two fishing boats pulled up on a sandy beach, one dark green and one bright yellow, beside a pale green sea.

A dark green boat with a black hull sits closest to the viewer, its mast and rigging poles crossing at sharp angles above the deck. Beside it a second boat with bright yellow planking and a black interior is cut off at the edge of the picture. Both rest on a beach of pink, brown and ochre strokes, with a flat, pale green sea behind. The yellow planking and green hull are the strongest colours, set against warm sand and a hazy white sky, and thick, confident strokes give the boats weight. The mood is still and quiet, the calm of boats resting between outings. The original is a painting; this is a reproduction of it.

Claude Monet (1840 to 1926) was the French painter who became one of the founders of Impressionism. This is a study, a quick working look at a subject, and he often returned to the same subject under changing light.

FAQ

Is this an original artwork?
No. This is a modern fine art reproduction printed on 200 gsm matte fine art paper, not an original or hand-painted work.

What size should I choose?
30x40 cm suits a shelf, a desk or a gallery wall of several small pieces. 50x70 cm is the usual choice for a single print above a bed, a sofa or a console table. 60x90 cm works as a standalone focal point on a large empty wall.

Does the print come framed?
Only if you choose a frame or canvas in the options, where they ship to your country; both arrive ready to hang. An unframed print ships without a frame, and every size matches a standard frame format, so it fits off-the-shelf frames.

How is my order printed?
Each print is made to order at the partner facility closest to you, which keeps delivery times short and shipping distances low. The product page shows where your print is made: locally in your country, or in the closest country with a partner facility.

Can I return it?
Yes. You can return a print within 14 days of delivery. A damaged or defective print is replaced free of charge if you tell us within 30 days of receiving it. Returns go to our address in Poland, and the return shipping is at your cost; a damaged or defective print does not need to be sent back.
