Description

Reproduction of Ilmari Alto's golden autumn fields and dark trees beneath a vast, swirling cloud. Bold, simplified shapes give a graphic, weighty mood.

The lower third of the picture is built from simplified, rolling fields in warm ochre, rust and olive, dotted with a row of dark, rounded trees and a small red-roofed farmhouse along the ridge line. Above the fields a single vast cloud dominates the sky, its rounded, almost sculptural form painted in thick strokes of cream, grey and pale blue that curl and fold across most of the upper picture. Warm golden brown fields meet cool cream, grey and blue in the sky. The shapes are flattened and stylised, more about pattern and colour than fine detail, giving the autumn scene a graphic, weighty presence. The original is a painting; this is a reproduction of it.

Ilmari Alto works in a bold, simplified and stylised manner, with thick strokes and flat shapes.

FAQ

Is this an original artwork?
No. This is a modern fine art reproduction printed on 200 gsm matte fine art paper, not an original or hand-painted work.

What size should I choose?
30x40 cm suits a shelf, a desk or a gallery wall of several small pieces. 50x70 cm is the usual choice for a single print above a bed, a sofa or a console table. 60x90 cm works as a standalone focal point on a large empty wall.

Does the print come framed?
Only if you choose a frame or canvas in the options, where they ship to your country; both arrive ready to hang. An unframed print ships without a frame, and every size matches a standard frame format, so it fits off-the-shelf frames.

How is my order printed?
Each print is made to order at the partner facility closest to you, which keeps delivery times short and shipping distances low. The product page shows where your print is made: locally in your country, or in the closest country with a partner facility.

Can I return it?
Yes. You can return a print within 14 days of delivery. A damaged or defective print is replaced free of charge if you tell us within 30 days of receiving it. Returns go to our address in Poland, and the return shipping is at your cost; a damaged or defective print does not need to be sent back.
