Description

Reproduction of Edward Theodore Compton's jagged, ice bound peak above a crevassed glacier under a churning alpine sky. Cool whites, greys and pale blues.

A sharp, snow-streaked peak rises at the centre, its rocky face broken by patches of dark stone showing through heavy ice and snow. Below it a wide glacier fills the foreground, its surface carved into ridges, hollows and a dark crevasse, while smaller peaks recede into a soft haze on the left. The colours are cool whites, greys and pale blues, with thick banks of cloud rolling across the sky and catching warm light along their edges. The mood is dramatic and isolated, with a strong sense of scale before the great mass of ice and rock. The original is a painting; this is a reproduction of it.

Edward Theodore Compton's original is a high mountain landscape, with detailed ice and rock set against a stormy, shifting sky.

FAQ

Is this an original artwork?
No. This is a modern fine art reproduction printed on 200 gsm matte fine art paper, not an original or hand-painted work.

What size should I choose?
30x40 cm suits a shelf, a desk or a gallery wall of several small pieces. 50x70 cm is the usual choice for a single print above a bed, a sofa or a console table. 60x90 cm works as a standalone focal point on a large empty wall.

Does the print come framed?
Only if you choose a frame or canvas in the options, where they ship to your country; both arrive ready to hang. An unframed print ships without a frame, and every size matches a standard frame format, so it fits off-the-shelf frames.

How is my order printed?
Each print is made to order at the partner facility closest to you, which keeps delivery times short and shipping distances low. The product page shows where your print is made: locally in your country, or in the closest country with a partner facility.

Can I return it?
Yes. You can return a print within 14 days of delivery. A damaged or defective print is replaced free of charge if you tell us within 30 days of receiving it. Returns go to our address in Poland, and the return shipping is at your cost; a damaged or defective print does not need to be sent back.
