Description

Reproduction of Eugène Boudin's billowing white clouds massed over a pale blue sea, with tiny sailboats on the horizon. Airy, bright and calm.

Layered white and grey clouds fill roughly three quarters of the scene, their soft, rounded forms built up in loose strokes against patches of clear pale blue. Beneath them a narrow band of flat, pale sea meets a thin dark strip of distant coastline, with a few tiny sailboats near the horizon, their sails small pale triangles almost lost in the light. Soft whites, greys and pale blues dominate, with barely a strong colour anywhere, and the sea is reduced to a quiet supporting strip beneath the real subject, the shifting volume and light of the summer sky. The mood is bright, airy and open. The original is a painting; this is a reproduction of it.

Eugène Boudin (1824–1898) was a French painter known for beach and harbour scenes on the Normandy coast, celebrated for his skies and often credited as an early influence on Claude Monet.

FAQ

Is this an original artwork?
No. This is a modern fine art reproduction printed on 200 gsm matte fine art paper, not an original or hand-painted work.

What size should I choose?
30x40 cm suits a shelf, a desk or a gallery wall of several small pieces. 50x70 cm is the usual choice for a single print above a bed, a sofa or a console table. 60x90 cm works as a standalone focal point on a large empty wall.

Does the print come framed?
Only if you choose a frame or canvas in the options, where they ship to your country; both arrive ready to hang. An unframed print ships without a frame, and every size matches a standard frame format, so it fits off-the-shelf frames.

How is my order printed?
Each print is made to order at the partner facility closest to you, which keeps delivery times short and shipping distances low. The product page shows where your print is made: locally in your country, or in the closest country with a partner facility.

Can I return it?
Yes. You can return a print within 14 days of delivery. A damaged or defective print is replaced free of charge if you tell us within 30 days of receiving it. Returns go to our address in Poland, and the return shipping is at your cost; a damaged or defective print does not need to be sent back.
