Description

Reproduction of Thomas Stringer's gentleman on a grey horse pausing with two companions in a rocky, wooded landscape, with hounds and riders in the distance.

A grey horse with a dark mane stands at the centre, its rider in a black coat and hat turned to gesture back toward the viewer, while a second man on foot holds two chestnut horses just to the right beneath tall, dark trees. Rocky outcrops and a rough dirt track lead the eye through the foreground. Further back, a red coated rider on a bay horse leads a small group with hounds along a path near a distant house. The background is a soft, hazy palette of greens and browns beneath a pale evening sky, with the grey horse and red coat as points of contrast. The looming rock and heavy tree canopy add a slightly wild, dramatic note to a calm gathering. The original is a painting; this is a reproduction of it.

Thomas Stringer painted a hunting portrait in the sporting tradition, set in a landscape with real depth from the foreground track to the distant house.

FAQ

Is this an original artwork?
No. This is a modern fine art reproduction printed on 200 gsm matte fine art paper, not an original or hand-painted work.

What size should I choose?
30x40 cm suits a shelf, a desk or a gallery wall of several small pieces. 50x70 cm is the usual choice for a single print above a bed, a sofa or a console table. 60x90 cm works as a standalone focal point on a large empty wall.

Does the print come framed?
Only if you choose a frame or canvas in the options, where they ship to your country; both arrive ready to hang. An unframed print ships without a frame, and every size matches a standard frame format, so it fits off-the-shelf frames.

How is my order printed?
Each print is made to order at the partner facility closest to you, which keeps delivery times short and shipping distances low. The product page shows where your print is made: locally in your country, or in the closest country with a partner facility.

Can I return it?
Yes. You can return a print within 14 days of delivery. A damaged or defective print is replaced free of charge if you tell us within 30 days of receiving it. Returns go to our address in Poland, and the return shipping is at your cost; a damaged or defective print does not need to be sent back.
