Description

Reproduction of James Wyatt's neoclassical ceiling design, a radiating central rosette surrounded by painted bird medallions and scrolling acanthus borders.

A large circular rosette of fine radiating lines sits at the heart of the design, enclosed by a square border of delicate scrollwork within a larger rectangular panel. Four smaller roundels at the corners hold painted vignettes of birds among foliage in muted greens and browns, and slender vertical borders on either side repeat the scrolling acanthus motif. The design is drawn in fine, even line on a pale ground, with soft greens and browns in the bird medallions. Faint ruled guidelines and a scale note along the bottom edge show it was a working design. The ornament has a lace-like delicacy, and the mood is light, ordered and elegant. The original is a design drawing for a neoclassical ceiling; this is a reproduction of it.

James Wyatt (1746–1813) was an English architect who worked in both neoclassical and Gothic revival styles.

FAQ

Is this an original artwork?
No. This is a modern fine art reproduction printed on 200 gsm matte fine art paper, not an original or hand-painted work.

What size should I choose?
30x40 cm suits a shelf, a desk or a gallery wall of several small pieces. 50x70 cm is the usual choice for a single print above a bed, a sofa or a console table. 60x90 cm works as a standalone focal point on a large empty wall.

Does the print come framed?
Only if you choose a frame or canvas in the options, where they ship to your country; both arrive ready to hang. An unframed print ships without a frame, and every size matches a standard frame format, so it fits off-the-shelf frames.

How is my order printed?
Each print is made to order at the partner facility closest to you, which keeps delivery times short and shipping distances low. The product page shows where your print is made: locally in your country, or in the closest country with a partner facility.

Can I return it?
Yes. You can return a print within 14 days of delivery. A damaged or defective print is replaced free of charge if you tell us within 30 days of receiving it. Returns go to our address in Poland, and the return shipping is at your cost; a damaged or defective print does not need to be sent back.
